Woooooah...
So. Sort of big news in my world today. Turns out I won The Month at the Museum contest. I will write plenty more on that later, but it's been a long day. A GREAT day. But long.
Before I get my four hours of sleep (back at the museum at 5:45AM! YE-AH!), I would like to just say that Felix, Alex, Jonathan and Krispijn are four of the most amazing, hilarious and kind people I have ever met. I have admired their videos for over a week and having met them in person I can say with absolute authority that yes, they are just as awesome in person as they are online. Thank you, fabulous finalists, for making this morning such a joy. I feel so lucky to be put in the same group as such talented, bright people such as yourselves. Spending time with you was a complete blast.

HUGE Thank you
Month at the Museum voting is officially over! I'd like to send a huge "Thank you" to everyone who supported me this week. Any fears I had that the public part of this application process would be scary or overwhelming were completely dissolved by everyone's kind words and generous spirits. All the work and worry of this process was totally worth it just for all the wonderful emails, meeting new people and the chance to reconnect with old friends. Thank you so much.
The winner of Month at the Museum will be announced at 10:30am tomorrow, Wednesday October 6th at the Museum of Science and Industry. Also! Tomorrow is a free day at the museum! If you happen to be in Chicago you are more than welcome to come to the museum tomorrow for the announcement event 10:30am in the Rotunda. It's the middle of the week, and short notice, but it would be super fun and nothing is better than free, right?
I feel amazingly lucky to have had so much positive support this past week. No matter what the result, it's been a great week.

15 minutes (or 60 seconds) of fame!
Well. There has just been bundles of excitement all over my apartment this week.
One of my roommates is jetting off to Providence for a reading of one of her plays. My other roommate just finished a massive custom comic book order. Oh, and there's this whole museum thing.
Some background: My roommates and I live in a wonderful apartment we call The Hermitage. It has a lot of what people would call "character." Don't get me wrong, The Hermitage is one of my most favorite places on earth. However, describing an apartment as having "character" basically means things either don't work or don't work very well. For example, our television. I purchased the TV two years ago from a very nice man in Skokie for $50. It works perfectly well for DVDs, but watching TV shows is another story. Recently I've been on a mission to find the magical spot in our living room where I can comfortably hold the antennae. This mystery spot remains to be discovered. Our lack of TV programming has never really bothered me... UNTIL NOW. A friend called me earlier this week freaking out because she had just seen my MSI video on the local news. The news. The NEWS! I was on television! The video clip is below:

What a beautifully overwhelming week. It's strange, the application process has been going on for about two months now, but just recently went public. The contest has completely occupied all my available brain space for a long time and it's unbelievable to me that other people are getting just as excited. I've had numerous friends from all corners of my past email me to wish me luck. People I don't even know are offering their support. Thanks so much, everyone.
